Battle on the Border – 26th May 2012

Whitecollarboxing.ie proudly presents the ‘Battle on the Border’ - one postcode, two clubs. In this boxing extravaganza two heavyweight titans from the rugby world will come face to face for the first time off the pitch. Old rivalries will ignite when Terenure RFC takes on St. Mary’s RFC. Brawling and not mauling will be the name of the game when players step into the boxing ring for the first time. Who will triumph on the night? Will it be the Budgies or the Saints?? Held in the Marquee Lakelands on the 26th May, this evening promises to be a smasher. Kick-off is 8:30pm, tickets are €20 and can be purchased from either clubs or by contacting (01) 2558339.

The Battle of Arklow – 9th June 2012

Arklow gets set to Battle!!

Arklow RFC and Arklow Rocks GAA are going head to head in a Battle of the Clubs never seen before

Whitecollarboxing.ie along with Arklow RFC and Arklow Rocks GAA bring you ‘The Battle of Arklow’. Players from both clubs are ditching the pitch and leaving the boots behind to battle it out in the boxing ring for the first time.

To be crowned Club Champions, 30 brave men and women from both clubs are putting it all on the line and are undertaking an intensive 6 week training programme that will see them go from boxing amateur to pro when they get the ultimate opportunity to compete in a boxing ring on Saturday 9th June in the Arklow Bay Hotel at 7.30pm. This also marks the date that the original Battle of Arklow took place during the Irish Rebellion in 1798, over 214 years ago.

All the proceeds from this show will provide vital funds needed to keep the two clubs in action for another year. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased from the Arklow Bay Hotel and It’s Fresh.

Pre Season Push

Be creative with your pre season training in 2012 and earn some money for your club. Boxing training is widely recognised as an excellent way of cross training for other sports. Not alone are ourtraining sessions demanding on a physical level but mentally athletes can benefit greatly from their new found mental toughness discipline.

Giving the added focus of a contest at the end of a six or eight week period will naturally enhance the intensity of training.

Our coaches will enjoy the challenge of designing a programme specifically for the requirements of your team.

Visit our fundraisers page for more information.
